WOW

mooneclipse.jpg

Good Morning, I hope you all remembered to go out last night to see the Lunar Eclipse it was awesome. It is many many years since I managed to see one not from the want of trying but the cloud cover never allowed it, either that or it was in the middle jof the night.  Last night the sky was clear and starry and living in a village we are not too bad for light pollution.  I did take pictures but they did not come out at all.  I think a quarter of a million miles is just too far for my camera and I think the lense was covered with condensation every time I went out into the garden, so the picture at the top is borrowed.
It really took me back to my childhood standing watching the eclipse last night it was something I did with my Dad he always knew when they were going to be and we used to watch out of the window. We lived high up so we always got a good view. Its stange the  things can trigger memroies from way back.
Must go now and get dressed etc. I hope someone else has managed to get good pictures from last night maybe Jannette down on the south coast as she gets great moon shots (Hope she remembered) or maybe Stuart over on the west coast with his new camera.   Have a lovely day.    Love

I remembered about the lunar eclipse. I sat by the indow last night for an hour with my laptop, gazing at sky. We had no luck, couldn't see it because of all the clouds. But my friend took some photos. Have a good Sunday.

Best wishes,
Leigh :-)

You are so lucky....all we got was an orange outline!!!! That certainly is an amazing sight!!

WOW indeed Joan, that is one lovely shot!!!! I watched it from outdoors, a lovely clear sky and not a breath of wind. It didnt turn such a deep orange as on your photo, more of a dull reddish grey. Still worth seeing though.

Love,  Cathy.  xx

Hello Joan,  didn`t the moon look beautiful last night?  I tried to take photos without success as my lens also went cloudy from the cold. It`s usually too cloudy for a good view but this time I stood outside without a coat and almost froze as I looked at the disappearing moon! :o)

No, I didn't Joan, sorry! Guido has loads of pics of it from Stornoway on his Northern Trip blog. I did see it on my way home last night but when I got home the moon was on the other side of my block of flats and it was so cold out, I also had to be up before 6am for work so I gave it a miss. There's another total lunar eclipse on August 28th so maybe I can catch that one! Jeannette xx

Hi Joan wonderful picture of the lunar eclipse I bet it was awesome.  I didn't even know that  it was due I love things like that so sorry I missed it. Weather here was very wet and very windy last night so I doubt if I would have been able to see anything.  I know how wet it was because my cat Daisy decided to pay me a visit in the middle of the night while I was sleeping and she woke me up pushing her soaking wet head in my face.  I reached out to stroak her and she was really wet  all over and all over my bed. I did have a bit of a shock.  But I love her I had to get out and find a towell to dry her. Ha Ha.  best wishes. Kathie.
