The Wednesday Outing

Greetings from a very tired lady, We have been out Christmas shopping all day and I am exhausted. It has been very cold and the white frost has stayed all day and has started to come down again we caught upon with the gritting lorry as we drove home so they are surely expecting more tonight. Who need snow its pure white now without any.   I don't mind the shopping its the carrying the bags back to the car I hate by the time we got back to the car we were both pretty shattered dear not meaning to mump and moan I enjoyed my day and managed to get some shopping done.  I have not managed to see the Christmas light in Perth's main streets yet as the light are never on early enough for us the ones in the indoor Mall are lovely although I don't particularly like pink as the main colour for the Christmas Tree. Call me old fashioned if you like.  In one shop today I had a very nice assistant I had one roll of Christmas paper in my basket and she told me the paper was now buy one get one free and sent another assistant to get another for me, She said she had two staff off sick and had not had time to put up a sign, I thought it was very nice of her to tell me she did not have to and many would not have. Well its that time again to go and make the dinner feeling very hungry after all our traipsing about Have an nice evening Love,

Another busy day.

Good Afternoon, well I we have had a busy day today. This morning I was at the hairdresser for a trim so that will be me for the next few week till I have to go for the dreaded perm. I hate having them but my hair is of the soft baby kind and I need something to keep it in shape in the damp weather. My hair has been the plague of my life if only I had a wave or a curl it would have been lovely but mine is dead straight and fine so what can I do.

After an early lunch we headed up to Perth Royal for Stuart's appointment his time was for 1-30pm he was taken at 1-35 and was out by 1-45 hows that for good service full marks to PRI.The news was good and all is well. We had a coffee in the coffee shop in the hospital then headed down to the Retail Park to have a wander round the big Computer shop etc won't say if we bought anything or not.

Tonight its back to the ironing basket and Holby and an old Taggart on ITV2 if we are going to stay up late we will see. Time now to make some dinner what to make that is the question?. Good Bye  and have a good evening. Love

Busy Busy.

Hello, its the start of another week already.  This is a very busy week for us. We usually don't do a lot but this week we have a hospital appointment for Stuart on Tuesday. More! Christmas shopping on Wednesday and on Friday we have our grand daughter school concert.  Today we have made the Christmas cake its in the oven as I type and the lovely smell should be starting soon at the moment I can only smell the brown paper heating up that around the tin.  This afternoon we have to go to the village  to post a parcel. Stuart ordered some trousers from a magazine and they are very small made he said in other words they will not fasten so they will have to go back. Then we will have to go the bank with a nice fat cheque that I received from the tax man this morning for tax I overpaid last year, was that not nice of him and what a great time for a windfall. Just proves you should fill in the forms he sends you.

Not a bad day here would not go as far as to say it is sunny but there is a bit of light in the sky for our walk. Well I will close now and go and get changed to go out.  Have a good day. Love

I think I'm loosing it.

Graphic by D's Design

Hello, don't have a awful lot to say today but no doubt when I get started something will come to me. Stuart and I had a walk this morning the sun was shining and it was very mild so we really enjoyed it. I have one funny story from last week that you will find it hard to believe anyone could be so silly. On Tuesday I bought my copy of "Whets on TV" as  I usually do that day. Later that day I realized that it was for the current week which was the one I already had.  On Wednesday while up in Perth I bought a TV Times for this week (I Thought). Yesterday I looked it out and lo and behold it was for last week ass well. I wonder what on earth I was thinking of or not thinking of last week. That Flu injection going to get the blame as I am not usually that silly am I. Tried out a small 18" fibre optic tree in the vestibule last night and it looks really beautiful and you can see it well from the road even if it is only small. Going to put up our main tree this week sometime. Well I think that it for today except to wish you all a peaceful Sunday Love,

A Thank You.

Good Afternoon, First of all I would like to thank all of you that sent me greeting for my birthday it was very good of you to take the time to send them to me it was really appreciated. I had a very nice day with Stuart and we had a visit from our son and granddaughter.  Ellen was not her cheerful self yesterday as she had had a bad night with a cough and did not get her proper rest.  Richard had been in charge as our daughter in law was at a candle party and he had been pleased that his latest edition of his beloved cycling magazine had arrived that morning so he though he was going have the evening to himself as Ellen is usually a very good sleeper but Ellen had other ideas and he was up and down to her all evening so the magazine was not read. Poor Richard he does not get much time to himself as he has to travel to work as well. Oh well no doubt he will survive.

Last night was the opening of the Art Exhibition so We were out and about at that and it was lovely and the paintings all looked very good.  The studio where it was taking place was packed out for the two and a half hour we were there. By the time we got home we were absolutely exhausted with standing all that time and to think of it just a year ago I stood all day sometimes obviously have lost the knack of that . One of the ladies in Stuart Art Class makes some lovely silver jewellery so I am going to go back and have another look as it would make nice Christmas gifts.

It is hard to believe that it exactly 1 year since I retired and the time has gone by so quickly. I was in my old store this morning and the girls can't understand how I pass the time but never find it a problem there is always something to do comments to write journal entries to try to write and get sorted out the first time of asking someday it takes me the best part of 2 hours not so much now as I use front page to write it in and I can save it there before I transfer it over and it has a lovely spell check on it great. As you will have noticed my mood is back to my cheery self thank goodness the clouds are all away, thank you for the support and trying to cheer me up the last few days.   Well I think that will be all for today and wish you a happy day. (Harry Potter 2 a 5-15pm if you did not know ITV1)

Love  Joan.

The Non Christmas Shopping

Graphic by D'Design

Good Afternoon J-land, I have hade two very stressful days trying to my Christmas Shopping we went up to Perth yesterday and I came back with a book for myself a new Nelson DeMille that I wanted.  Christmas shopping wise absolutely zilch.  Today I have been to a retail outlet out near Stirling and today I came back with some tissue paper and that was it, I just cannon think of anything for anybody and it is driving me and Stuart to distraction. Enough of my bad moods its just not my week if I still got PMT I could blame that but I'll be 63 tomorrow so it can't be that.

A couple of things that has made me Merry today are Sarah did me a nice Christmas Signature and I got the link for AOL radio from Stuart over on Specimen Days and they have stations playing all kinds of Christmas music depending what you like. I have traditional playing at the moment and it is great.

Its been an awful dark grey day here today not much daylight at all which does not help back moods.  I have not been very good a Christmas since Christmas 1997 when Stuart had a heart attack at the Christmas dinner table and I always think of that at this time of year. I try to keep these feeling at bay but sometimes they do get the better of me. You see on the way to the hospital Stuart's heart stopped altogether and we had to pull over to the side of the road but thanks to the wonderful Ambulance staff they got him going again so there I have told you all why I'm like this at this time. Well I will have to go now and do some catching up to do cleaning wise.  Love to you all and take care.
