Good afternoon, feeling sad today so I thought I would come on and tell all and maybe get some sympathy. Today we have a very strong wind blowing and it is catching our garden in a place where there is no shelter. Stuart went out to try to get the grass cut and discovered that our l8foot Eucalyptus tree had burst out of the ground as was ready to fall down on our neighbours shed and our fence to we have no choice but to cut it down. The garden looks so bare without it. We have had it for about 15 years and had grown it from a sapling 12 inches tall. I was such a lovely tree and just rustled in the summer breeze but today as it was in full leaf the wind was catching it like a sail on a ship and it was just too much for it. We have left a stump and it should come again but it will take a long time and we are not going to allow it to get so big again. Our fence is on its last legs too the wind today has done more damage than all the winter gales we had earlier this year. So with my sad tale I will say bye for now and hope you have a Happy Easter. We have snow forecast so that’s something to look forward to. By the way Stuart did not get the grass cut, by the time we cut the tree down we were pooped. Bye. Love Joan.

Oh Joan such a shame abour your tree, I didn't know you could get Eucalytus tree's here I've only seen tham in Austrailia!! with luck it will grow again, horrib le weather here today rain all day Grrr and the forcast for snow over Easter typical isn't it.

So sorry you have had to cut back your tree ,isnt it sad when that happens completly changes the makeup of the view of the garden ,Horrible day here too ,very cold and raining ,snow forcast yuk,Hope you both have a happy and Blessed Easter ..love Jan xx
I'm so sorry about the tree. I worry that will happen to two huge trees in our backyard someday. We're expecting 4 or more inches of snow tonight. It will certainly be an interesting Good Friday.

Oh what a shame Joan, I love our magnolia tree and would hate to lose it. In our old house we had a Eucalyptus and I remember what a lovely smell it had.

What a shame Joan. I hate to see grand trees felled by the wind. We have rain and high gusty winds here in the lakes too! We have had such lovely spring weather since last weekend. I suppose it was too good to be true for long. We are due snow too. Bah!
You must both be absolutely shattered after all that work. I suppose if its any consolation you will sleep well tonight. Looks like the grass is going to have to wait here too. C'est la vie!

Am sorry to read you've lost a precious tree in your garden. Try using your feminine charms - get Stuart to treat you to little tree from the garden centre this Easter. If he's anything like Ron, all the hints in the world, will fall on deaf ears. Keep laughing.

We had to cut down a tree in our yard a few years ago because it was sick and the yard still doesn't look the same.
