Can You Help Me

Good Morning I too have been getting these wireless alerts. Can anyone tell me how we are supposed to know who they are from. I have tried to click on to them but cannot get a link. Please help if you can. Love Joan.

Joan it's difficult unless you know from just reading the first bit,  I got one this morning and I knew it was Jeannette and she is on my sidebar so I can go back to read it - I think they do eventually end up coming back as an ordinary alert...but I can't swear to that...Ally

They do it to me all the time!! All my alerts go out in this form, apart from the odd one when they deem to send out a proper alert! I asked Joe the journals editor if he could fix it a couple of weeks back but got no reply which I think is so rude, they're meant to be service providers. The wireless device alert is only supposed to go to mobile phones and wireless devices but they get put out as alerts for a lot of the English journals. I added two entries last night and got these silly alerts go out for both! Jeannette.  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels

Ditto to all three of the previous comments!!! I am just sending my own out now as a matter of course....considering, like Jeanette(welcome to my travels) going to a new server....ntl is the most likely option as they are our phone provider! love Joan

Hi Joan,   I can`t really add anything to what has already been advised, it`s about time it was sorted out . They are a real nuisance!

I have written to Joe several times .  All he did was leave a comment on my journal saying that aol were aware of the problem and were attempting to fix it.  That was quite some time back and nothing has been done.  I do not think they give a hoot.  I only get one line of text on the wireless alert thing and not even the name of the journaller so I do not have a clue who has written it.  Oh, all my favourite places disappeared as well, I do not mean on my journal, I mean on my screenname and I know have to put my password in everytime although it is stored.  Keeps telling me "invalid password".  I am sick to the back teeth of aol.

I have only today sent a loaud and clear message to Mr. Magic Smoke. I thought it was only English journals that had probs though. Here is what i said - I am very angry:
"Most of the English journallers have a permanent bad taste in their mouths - left by aol and their inability to correct the ongoing problem with our journal alerts. I've heard it is to do with "wireless devices", on entries of CERTAIN LENGTH: This is racilism in the extreme - why are we not allowed a proper alerts service - I read we are all allowed the same amount of characters in an entry. I'm not apologising to aol for being an English journaller, because they should be proud of us. There are some really good English journals, which soon will be closed down, due to aol's ignorant attitude towards us. I'm usually more of a mouse type, but come on aol! Enough is enough! We have suffered for months now, is our money not good enough?
