Good afternoon, today I am going to tell you about the last book I read. It was Chasing Men by Edwina Currie.  As books go this one was not too bad it was one of those books that you read about 200 pages then think this is not much good especially when you have 3 or 4 books in your little pile just calling out to be read, but having read 200 pages I thought I will just finish it now. I had been struggling with this book for a few weeks mainly because the type was very small and I do most of my reading in bed during the winter, in summer its in the garden anyhow I got to the end the night before last all 372 pages of it not that long and  at the very end its says  "What do you think Hetty should do next.  Email her at blah blah What happened could Edwina not think of an ending. To say the least I was very annoyed a book with no ending it was like the last two pages were missing.  I have read some of her other books but this one was not up to scratch at all. Started a book that Santa brought to me believe it or not it at he first Harry Potter book  Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by J.K.Rowling. Have only read15 pages but at least the type face is a bit better and I have been wanting to read this for a while.   Another dull damp day but we have been out and about for my travels today I will write them in My Bird watching Diary.  Love

Never read her books but if I had read the one you have just described, I would happily have wanted to throttle Mrs Currie!!  I always have my nose stuck in a book.

Oh Joan, that stinks!  I just finished re-reading "Memoirs of a Geisha"  Next I want to see the movie that was recently released.   Loved Harry books.      Dawn

Have not read any of her books and I now shall not bother. You sound like me, reading in or on the bed in the winter and outside in the summer.

Hi Joan,  I must admit her books have never appealed to me in the past and after your review they never will!  How annoying to have to struggle your way through and for it not to have a proper ending...ridiculous!  I like to read in bed too but if a book is really good I find it hard to put it down and don`t get to sleep until an ungodly hour...lol!  I notice one comment mentioning  Memoirs of a Geisha, it`s a smashing book, I throughly recommend it. :o)

I can't beleive any author would end a book that way.  It will quickly reduce her readership.

I would feel so annoyed if I'd read a book like that - I'd email her and probably shout expletives at her and demand my money back LOL...........hope your enjoying HP.  I know what you mean about books calling out to you :-)

I hate books that you think are going to be good, and then aren't.  I'm glad you picked up Harry Potter.  I am a geek, even to the point of being 16 and dressing up to get the 6th one at midnight.  THEY ARE AMAZING!
